Hiking is by far the most popular sport in Kitzbuehel during the summer, because the resort with its network of well-maintained trails is a true walker's paradies. More than 1000 km of trails are available to explore the colourful flower meadows with grazing cows, wide alpine pastures as well as the soft grass mountains which are characteristic for the area. Kitzbuehel Tourism offers free guided tours with our experienced guides Engelbert and Madeleine, also to the craggy Wilder Kaiser mountain range which majestically watches over the region.

next calbe car the Fleckalmbahn, that brings you up into the famous ski- and hiking area of the Kitzbühel Apls, is only a 2 minutes drive from our house (1,5 km), next bus stop 50 m.

with its diverse and varied terrain to suit all disciplines, Kitzbuehel is a real hotspot for cyclists. Road riders will appreciate the scenic well maintained roads and the fourteen detailed routes that have been put together in a small guide book. Each route has its own level of classification and in total there are 1,200 kilometers to explore. The scenic road that runs to the top of the Kitzbühel Horn is the steepest road in Austria and presents a unique challenge. It is considered a classic of the international cycling scene. Mountain bikers and off road riders are well catered for too and have their own map with 800 kilometres of trails that run alongside flowing rivers, through forests and across the mountains.

Teeing off at the center of a winning centrifugal force; woods and irons with an instinct for the right trajectory; putting to perfection – Kitzbühel is the stuff of golfers dreams. The Golf Course Kitzbühel-Schwarzsee is only 500 m away from our house. Located at the heart of the Kitzbühel Alps, surrounded by mountains, forests and meadows, the special attractions of this course are the water obstacles, the flat fairways at holes 1 to 9, and the hilly profiles of holes 10 to 18. Its well balanced terrain makes Kitzbühel Schwarzsee Reith the perfect course and golf a fascinating sport for all comers, from beginners to single-handicap golfers.

Kitzbuehel offers numerous recreational and relaxation opportunities around water. The Schwarzsee Lake between Kitzbuehel and Reith is only 1km away from our house and one of the most beautiful bathing lakes in the Alps. The base of the lake consists of peat soil and this helps it warm up quickly in spring developing beneficial health effects. It is also possible to swim at the moor pool at the Gieringer Weiher, the Badwelt Aquarena, Kitzbuehel’s indoor swimming pool and the forest swimming pool in Jochberg.
